Kindersley Saskatchewan Travel Information
Kindersley is in western Saskatchewan where Number 7 Highway meets Number 21 Highway. Originally planned as the major town on Highway 7 between Saskatoon and Calgary, this town of 4,412 people remains that today.
Attractions in Kindersley include historic sites, natural parks, and festivals. The Kindersley and District Plains Museum displays a fully furnished 1900 era church, school, cookhouse, and fire hall, as well as antique artifacts. The Addison Sod House, built around 1910, is a family home made of blocks of topsoil held together by matted prairie grass roots. A Legion Hall, also dating from 1910, at the Garden Gallery about 41.6 km (25.8 mi.) south of Kindersley, displays historic items and western Canadian artwork. Dr. Lord's Timeless Treasures Teahouse is the restored 1920's home of Eatonia's first doctor.
The Johnson's Great Wall of Saskatchewan is a concrete-free man made wall. Nearby is an Indian Stone Effigy archaeological site, and 1500 year old petroglyphs can be viewed at The Herschel Petroglyphs.
