Denare Beach is a small town of about 784 people living on the east shore of Amisk Lake, about 400 km (248.5 mi.) northeast of Prince Albert. The Indian culture, the fur trade, pioneering, and mineral prospecting have all played a major role in the Denare Beach area. Its economy is largely based on tourism, and the town's population doubles in summer with the return of cabin owners.

Denare Beach offers visitors sandy beaches, supervised swimming, boat rentals, tennis courts, and camping sites. The town is home to one of Saskatchewan's oldest museums - the Northern Gateway Museum, founded in 1956. The Museum displays native and European historic artifacts, and information about the area's mining activities. About 10 km (6.2 mi.) south of town are limestone crevices, leftovers from the receding glaciers of the last ice age, with some up to 12 metres (39.4 ft.) deep. Be careful around the crevices, they can be dangerous. There are several lakes in the area that will please canoe and fishing enthusiasts, including Maligne Lake and Amisk Lake. As well, the interconnecting rivers make for good canoeing. In the nearby town of Creighton is a replica of an early 1900's Royal Northwest Mounted Police Post, and a Beaver City Monument commemorating the hometown of the 1910's Saskatchewan "Gold Rush".
